Purchase a Flag for Your Hero
The Rotary Club
of Georgetown’s Central Texas Field of Honor® is being presented by Don Hewlett
Chevrolet. This dramatic, emotion-filled display of full-size, 3′ x 5′ US
flags, each purchased in honor of a veteran, active or reserve duty military
individual, or first responder is a moving tribute that exemplifies “Service
Above Self,” and inspires patriotism and love of our country’s flag. The events
held throughout the week are open
to the public beginning Saturday afternoon, November 3rd
and are held in San Gabriel Park in Georgetown. In addition to the
full-size US flags, a presentation of both United States and Texas historical
flags will be on display for all to enjoy.
Flags can be
purchased for your hero in advance or at the Field. Flags are $40
each. To purchase yours, click here https://www.georgetowntxfieldofhonor.org/flag-orders/
Proceeds from this community event will benefit veteran and first responder
organizations.
The week of
events and activities for the Field of Honor will officially kick off with the
Opening Ceremonies on Sunday, November 4th at 2:00PM. This
awe-inspiring event will feature Fort
Hood’s amazing 1st Cavalry Band followed by the rumble of the Patriot
Guard Riders, a solemn combined armed services and first responder color guard,
Georgetown Fire Department’s Pipes and Drums, and a grand finale with the legendary Fort Hood 1st Cavalry
Color Guard presenting our national and state colors along with a moving 21-gun
salute and the playing of Taps.
Throughout the week, events including a Patriotic Concert, Flag Retirement
Ceremony, Honor Walk and Purple Heart Ceremony will all take place. On Saturday, November 10th, a Patriots Ball will be held at the Sheraton in Georgetown. Entertainment, dancing, and a live auction are just some of the evening's highlights. Tables are still available for purchase. Check
the schedule below to see the complete list of events.

The 2019 Silverado Has Arrived!
What's New on the 2019 Silverado? EVERYTHING!
The2019 Silverado has made its debut with lots of buzz in the media.
Chevrolet listened to its core customers and the result is amazing!
The all new Silverado is bigger, stronger and more capable than
ever! Here are the biggest upgrades:
- More Room! Yes, there’s lots more room in the spacious crew cab. Three inches of extra leg room in the rear seat to be exact. Not only do do the backseat passengers have more room, they now have rear A/C vents to cool them down. There are a few more interior improvements, including additional seat compartments, trust me, these are best experienced in person.
- Lighter Weight! The 2019 Silverado shed 450lbs of weight by applying aluminum to all the parts that open (doors, hood, tailgate). This weight improvement along with new engine technology allows the Silverado to operate on just one cylinder under the right conditions which has vastly improved the fuel economy.
- Larger Bed! Capability has improved with a 10% larger bed area for bigger loads. By moving the interior bed walls out and raising the bed just one inch the team was able to improve the cargo area. There are now 12 tie downs and a new cargo lighting system.
- Engine Superiority! The power for the
2019 Silverado still comes from the popular 5.3 liter V8, the 6.2 liter V8
and the 4.3 liter V6. Two new editions to the power train are the
2.7 liter Turbo 4 Cylinder and the 3.5 Liter Diesel (available in later
2018).
- Options Galore! There are now 8 packages available starting with the Work Truck. Check out the new custom package featuring the Chevrolet embossed front grill. The LT model has 2 more trim levels with the Trail Boss and the RST. The LTZ, the LTZ Trail Boss and the High Country round out the eight.
- Tow More! The heavy duty option with the best-in-class 10-speed automatic takes the towing capacity to 11,500 pounds.
- High Tech! The new Silverado features a wireless charging pad, USB ports, an available 110V power outlet, Android AutoTM or Apple CarplayTM and so much more!
- Power-Lift Tailgate! Chevy is the first to offer a power up and power down tailgate on the higher trim level trucks.
The
2019 Silverado is also much quieter on the inside and the seats are more
comfortable, but don't take my word for it, come see and drive the 2019
Silverado at Don Hewlett Chevrolet. We have over 75 in stock with more arriving
daily. Stop by today or call 512-681-3000 to set a VIP appointment with
one of our Silverado Specialists.
